Taro Tamai of GENTEMSTICK: designer and creator of a new style of snowboards. (Snow-Surfboards)
Traditionally, snowboards were designed taking inspiration from skateboards with a more urban motifs. The snowboard by Tamai have essential lines, and an aesthetic close to the classic surfboard! Why not?
Every board has a unique riding experience– even on the same slope.
Your individual stile influences your approach to a line.
In the ’90′ssnowbordingbecame an industrialized sport and we lost this sense of unique approach.
The media, globalization, and the mass production of boards… now all snowboard look alike. Regardless, the essence of snowboarding remains the same.
There will always the mountains, were the wind blows and the snow falls. We are still in search of undiscovered lines, and no one can take that away.
GENTEMSTICK sends out each of it’ s boards with “distinct characteristic”, in an effort to provide the true potential of riding, and to bring back the lost values of snowboarding.

Another Sunday goes by with another great turnout for us here at the SUPERFROG Gallery on the last day of our current exhibition.
Today, I had the distinct pleasure of assisting a young gentleman with the acquisition of his first work of art. He had contacted me by phone thirty minutes before we opened to inquire about Sidney Pink. I invited him to come in and look at his works together and after a delightful bit of chat, he decided to purchase ‘The Devoutly Religious’, 16×12 inches, pencil and watercolor on paper. He was very happy and enthusiastic about his purchase and could not wait to see it placed on the wall of his home.
It is such a great feeling to buy a piece of art you feel so strongly about. Making his day, made mine.
